Privacy Policy – Where Is My Driver

This Privacy Policy describes how Where Is My Driver ("the app", "we") collects, uses, and handles your information when you use the app.

1. Information We Collect

The app collects the following data from drivers:

• Account information – your email address and password (stored hashed), or the identifier and email provided by Google or by Sign in with Apple when you use those to sign in. Apple may give us a private relay address instead of your real email.
• Subscription status – the purchase identifier issued by Google Play or the App Store, the plan, its state (active, cancelled, expired) and expiry date, so we can check that your plan is active. We never receive your card or bank details; payments are handled entirely by Google or Apple.
• Precise location (GPS) – collected continuously while sharing is active, to display the driver's real-time position to passengers.
• Driver name – entered voluntarily by the driver in Settings; displayed to passengers on the tracking page.
• Driver phone number – entered voluntarily by the driver in Settings; displayed to passengers on the tracking page.

Passengers do not need an account, do not need to install the app and are not asked for personal information. If a passenger allows it, their browser position is used only to show the distance to the driver during that trip.

2. How We Use Your Information

All collected data is used solely to enable the app's core feature: real-time location sharing between the driver and passengers. Specifically:

• Account information is used to sign you in, to link your subscription to you, and to contact you about your account when needed.
• Subscription status is used to unlock location sharing and to keep it working after renewals, cancellations or refunds reported by the store.
• GPS location is transmitted to our backend (Supabase) and made available to anyone who has the unique tracking link generated for the session.
• Driver name and phone number are stored in our backend and displayed on the passenger's tracking page.

We do not use this data for advertising, analytics, or any other purpose.

3. Data Storage and Security

Data is stored on Supabase (supabase.com), a secure cloud database. All data is transmitted over HTTPS (encrypted in transit). Session data is associated with a unique session ID and is overwritten when a new session starts.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell or share your data with third-party companies or advertisers. Location, name, and phone number are accessible only to passengers who possess the unique tracking link shared by the driver.

5. Data Retention

Location data is updated in real time and overwritten with each new session. No historical location logs are retained. Driver name and phone number remain in the database until the driver clears or updates them in Settings. Account and subscription records are kept while the account exists and are deleted with it.

6. Your Choices

• You can delete your account from Settings in the app, or by following the steps at /delete-account. This removes your login and unlinks your subscription records. Subscriptions themselves are cancelled in Google Play or the App Store.
• The driver can stop sharing their location at any time by tapping "Stop Sharing" in the app.
• The driver can clear or change their name and phone number in the app's Settings at any time.
• Location permission can be revoked from the device's system settings at any time.

7. Third-Party Services

• Supabase – hosts our database, authentication and server functions.
• Google Play Billing / App Store – process subscription payments and tell our server when a subscription is bought, renewed, cancelled or refunded.
• Google Sign-In / Sign in with Apple – optional sign-in methods; they share only your basic profile (identifier, email, name) with us.
• Vercel – hosts the passenger tracking page. OpenStreetMap / OSRM – provide map tiles and walking routes for the tracking page.

8. Children's Privacy

This app is intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated date.
